Rothman to Host Firearms Safety & Rights Seminar on March 10
HARRISBURG – State Representative Greg Rothman (R-Cumberland) is inviting area residents to a Firearms Safety & Rights Seminar on Thursday, March 10, from 6-8 p.m. at the New Covenant Fellowship Church, 4500 Creekview Road in Mechanicsburg.

“This is a great opportunity for area gun owners, and potential gun owners, to learn more about the state’s concealed carry laws and other firearm-related regulations,” said Rothman. “I encourage anyone who would like to attend to sign up early, as this event is expected to fill up quickly.”

“Our guest speakers have a wealth of knowledge about our state’s laws and will share important details about gun ownership, especially if a firearm owner plans to travel out of state, and the legal implications when a firearm may be used to protect oneself,” Rothman added.

The free seminar will feature Hampden Township Chief of Police Steve Junkin, Cumberland County Sheriff Ron Anderson and attorney Matthew D. Menges, who will provide information about our state’s firearms laws and offer information on how to safely interact with police when carrying a firearm. The legal aspects of Pennsylvania’s Castle Doctrine, which allows a homeowner to use deadly force if necessary when threatened by an armed intruder, will also be covered.

Seating for this event is limited and light refreshments will be served. RSVP to Sheryl Thomas in Representative Rothman’s office at 717-975-2235 or by Thursday, March 3, 2016.
